Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School in the year 1992, started studying marine biology in 1992. Bossard started her journey in the commercial seafood industry in 1999. That year she was employed as a fisherman on Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut vessel, transformed into a fish tender. Bossard who is the wife of Aritan and has joined their alliance to gain access to their industries. They both believe in conservation as well as profiting from sustainable resources within the seafood industry. Otolith was created at the time of Philadelphia in the year 2000 by Bella Bossard, now the mother of two children aged 3 and 1, Bossard. In 2007, Bossard a mother of two children Bella age 3 and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia from her native Canada, opened Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard along with Isabella as well as Andre (ages 10 and 12 respectively) Return each year beginning in July of 2016 and continue to Southeast Alaska for the summer catch from wild salmon. A small 42-salmon troller, using hooks and line for catching their desired salmon, they join Aritan to work for the duration of two months of selling to local processors and continuing to grow their direct market seafood offerings sold by Otolith Sustainable Seafood by way buying the customized processing capabilities of small processors to create unique wild seafood products that show their dedication to quality and the natural environment.
